I’m sure you’ve seen those “save our planet” placards that allow you to reuse towels and sheets. Sure you can save a bit of water and reduce greenhouse gasses during your multi-night stay, but is that really enough? Can’t we all do a bit more? Today I’m pleased to announce a big breakthrough in the global hospitality industry. Ecofabulous has spearheaded an international coalition of hotels and formed a new industry group: Hotels United for Solutions Towards a Low-impact Environment.

Together we’re rolling out a new “save our planet” hotel card that extends your eco-commitment beyond your stay - from one guest to the next. Just think how much water we’ll save, and CO2 we’ll reduce, by utilizing gently used towels and previously enjoyed sheets. Finally a way for us to work together for the planet while still partaking in the luxury amenities we’ve come to expect. So on your way out of town, don’t forget to place your placards prominently next to your linens. While you may not personally know the next room occupant, you’ll be helping them make a difference.

And this is just the beginning. We’ve begun work on our next big initiative; removing all heating and cooling from guest rooms and suites. Happy travels!
