Smell the Roses, Not the B.O.

Since commercial deodorants contain a cocktail of potentially harmful chemicals (parabens, phthalates) and anti-perspirants contain aluminum that has been linked to breast cancer, we’re always on the lookout for a healthy way to keep our underarms feeling fresh. The glamorous girls over at Teens for Safe Cosmetics recently turned us on to Weleda’s deodorants. Made with the finest organic and biodynamic raw materials (with the intent of harnessing their healing properties), they’re free from synthetic preservatives and fragrances. In convenient spray bottles (no white streaks here), toss it in your purse or gym bag for refreshing, on the go. For you vegans out there, don’t be alarmed that “glycerin” is a listed ingredient; it’s derived from either coconut or palm kernel oil. And, the alcohol they use is gluten-free and cultivated in Italy, from organic grains. Keep in mind that everyone’s PH is different and you might need to experiment with a few different deordorants before finding your match.

I am trying to switch out all my personal care products to more eco friendly ones (we made our own soap and shaving cream) and my deodorant is very closing to dying. I wish I could read some reviews about it.

i’ve noticed that natural deodorants don’t work that well so i started dipping mine in baking soda before applying. it gives it enough absorbing power so i don’t get stinky!
