Fashion for the Forward Thinking

It is appropriate that we are covering fashion today since I was just on Fox & Friends talking about EarthPledge’s Future Fashion collection. I will give you the run down on each of the beautiful pieces in the collection on Thursday, after the House and Garden Green & Gorgeous fashion show at ABC Home on Wednesday. Most of the chic items that we are showing are not yet available for purchase, so today I am going to tell you about a hot line that is… A passion for sweaters brought them together, and from there Adam and Nico became partners in both business and life. The company that budded from their woolly union is Peligrosa, a line for men and women that focuses on bringing modernity to timeless silhouettes with as little environmental impact as is feasible. Cotton styles are 100% organic, and dyes are primarily recycled or derived from roots, herbs, fruits and vegetables. They once used bug-based dyes, such as Lac, but stopped after becoming a little disheartened over the business of killing insects (my son will be relieved) - just another testament to Adam and Nico’s commitment to Peligrosa’s evolution. The couple keeps close tabs on production, preferring as hands-on an approach as possible. They make sure to print their hang-tags on recycled cardboard with soy-based inks and ship their garments in biodegradable packaging made from corn. It doesn’t stop there, though; Peligrosa donates a percentage of their net profits to the Boys and Girls Club of America. Only available at Fred Segal, Sharon Segal and Hillary Rush in LA right now, their holiday collection will be available on thegreenloop.com this November. But keep your eyes peeled for the launch of their online store as well.
