It’s Time to Do Something

Is green just how you roll? Are you the person in class who is always volunteering, ready to step up and plan the next bake sale or fundraiser, or donate your time to a good cause?

If so, DoSomething.org has lots of projects to keep you busy. The folks at DoSomething.org don’t underestimate teenagers and know that by harnessing teen energy into positive projects the world can be a better place. The organization’s website is full of resources, tips, tools, project ideas and even a school carbon calculator widget to support teens along the way.

Some schools are taking action by introducing local and organic foods to their cafeterias, others by petitioning to introduce bike lanes in their communities. Other are implementing “carpool only” days and launching new recycling programs. The students bring the creative power and Do Something brings guidance about how to turn these projects into a reality.

The programs and products are free and there are suggestions for projects that will appeal to everyone, whether you are an animal lover, an avid human rights activist or just a health nut who wants to get others on board. Everyone can Do Something!
