Shop Talk:
Be A Green (Prom) Queen
If the Internet were one big high school, we’d totally ask Teens Turning Green to the prom. Right now we’re head over heels for this savvy coalition of eco-teens and their latest campaign to “green” the prom.
Last week marked the launch of Project Green Prom, a nationwide effort by environmentally conscious teens to transform their traditional springtime rite of passage into a planet friendly event. At the launch party at Whole Foods in Tribeca, we especially loved the colorful, trendy dresses in reworked and recycled fabrics that floated down the runway from designers like Bahar Shahpar and Nicole Miller. The event also showcased jewelry designers, makeup and beauty products, and event vendors all in tune with Project Green Prom’s vision for a healthy, sustainable prom.
