Doctor’s Orders

Bright lights in your eyes, wooden sticks down your throat, sharp needles and the impending scale - we get it, doctor’s aren’t your thing. But Dr. Bronner is here to suds, soothe and moisturize your worries away.

From the classic liquid and bar soaps (all biodegradable and vegetable-based) that have been around for years, to the recently released line of personal organic care products that came out in 2008 to celebrate the company’s 60th anniversary, Dr. Bronner’s products are all USDA certified organic and fair trade certified. We’re mad for the citrus orange scented liquid soap ($5.99 for 8 oz.) and the organic spearmint peppermint shaving gel ($7.99) - either one will leave you feeling refreshed and invigorated. Next on the list for development? Leave-in conditioning treatments and light styling gels!

In a dirty world, Dr. Bronner has a clear prescription - “wash with a clean conscience (and shave, shampoo, and moisturize too!).” And since most products range from $4 to $10, it means it’s a medical bill you can actually afford.

The chap sticks are WONDERFUL!!! I was given a free Ginger-Orange at the San Fransisco Green Festival last November. I adore it, and a few friends that have tried it as well became instant fans. It’s got the perfect texture, isn’t too greasy or tacky, and the taste is sublime. I wish more stores would carry it!

I’m a fan as well! Bronner’s is also so concentrated, it is perfect for traveling. And the peppermint gives a wonderful tingling sensation.

The peppermint 18-in-1 soap is amazing. Love their products!

I use Dr. Bronner’s bar soap to make my own laundry detergent…1 cup borax, 1 cup baking soda, 1 grated bar = cruelty free clean clothes. I’m going to try a variation in my dishwasher soon as well.
