Stop and Smell the Blunda
The romantic days of perfumery are alive and well at Blunda Aromatics, a cozy studio nestled right off of one of L.A.’s most stellar shopping destinations, West Third Street. Founder Persephenie, whose warm demeanor immediately puts one at ease, sought to make the perfume making process personal again, and she’s succeeded in spades.
Persephenie is an educator, a guide, and all-around beauty guru of sorts. She gets to know her clients, introduces them to the exotic oils and natural botanicals stocked in Blunda’s urban bungalow of a store space, and custom blends creations to suit their olfactory desires. Blunda is also blooming with a miscellany of perfume making supplies—flasks and scent strips, for example—for the aspiring perfume maker in us all. Non-Angelenos can visit Blunda’s website to purchase unique perfumes, incense, and more from far-flung corners of the world.
If you’re in the L.A. area on Saturday, March 28th from 1:00-5:00, join Persephenie and Laurie Stern of Velvet and Sweet Peas, one of the botanical lines carried at Blunda, for an exhibition of Stern’s luscious, phthalate-free scents.
It’s coming up more than roses at Blunda Aromatics, that’s certain.
