Discarded to Divine 2011
Not too often do we dress to (re)impress, but this is the case for San Francisco’s annual Discarded to Divine event. Here, designers take donated items and reinvent them into modern fashion and home interior designs. This year, the crowd listened attentively to the auctioneer’s rhythmic chant as they eagerly watched the models boast each original work of art on the runway. The lucky bidders received their favorite upcycled design as well as great karma for helping out the men, women and children seeking help through St. Vincent de Paul Society. Even Biggie, the most fashionably conscious dog on the block, strutted down the catwalk in his transformed wool jacket. Take a look at some of our favorites of the night!
