Recycled Fashions. Renewed Lives.
Since 2005, the annual Discarded to Divine Gala event gives talented, aspiring designers the opportunity to showcase their innovative expertise by fabricating original masterpieces out of unusable clothing donations. The discarded garments that evolve into wearable works of art and exquisite home décor are auctioned off to benefit men, women and children overcoming poverty, homelessness and domestic violence though the altruistic work of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
The event is not just a fundraiser but also a movement that embraces charity and sustainability to restore the lives around us, as well as the environment. Team ecofabulous are always devoted subscribers to the eBay affirmation that “the greenest product is often one that already exists” – but we understand that sometimes a little bit of skill and creativity is needed for a modern revamp!
The cocktail reception & silent auction will take place this Thursday, April 28th at the Hall at St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco. General reception starts at 6:30pm and the live auction and show begins at 8:00pm. The event often sells out, so make sure to purchase tickets in advance (or make a charitable donation) HERE.
