Four Hundred is the Magic Number

Bahar Shahpar is not only an amazing eco-designer herself (she is the sweetheart of the eco-design world) - earning her spot on Domino magazine’s 2007 Green List – but she is the Creative Director of a showroom for fashionistas (green and not) on the outskirts of NYC’s Soho shopping mecca. Fusing her eponymous brand with others of the ethical variety, she’s created The Four Hundred, where shoppers and press can gather to preview (and buy) the latest and greatest on the green fashion front. With Lara Miller (who we recently posted about here) and Sustainable Collective apparel, Beyond Skin shoes and Teich handbags, it’s an illustrious gathering of conscious designers. Bahar put together some looks for Gorgeous & Green that rocked the runway. When Josie Maran gaited through the crowd in Bahar’s seasonally appropriate candy cane striped dress, one attendee got on his cell phone and called a friend who was out of the country to tell her she should order it immediately.
