Pottery Barn Gives Birth to Organic Baby Line
Date: January 30, 2007 | Category: Home Furnishings
Welcome to the World. Pottery Barn has finally introduced a few organic staples to their kid’s line. Now you can get organic cotton crib sheets, changing pad covers, a cuddly hooded towel and a plush teddy bear or give the gift of a healthy beginning and send the box set. I haven’t decided if it is unfortunate that they opted for the oft-expected oatmeal palette or if we should be thankful. On one hand, without hue options design-centric customers may avoid the new addition. On the other hand, had they opted for colors they would have likely ended up using traditional, unhealthy dyes… Maybe off-white will be the new black next season. Yes, there is a long was to go but this is definitely a good start. www.potterybarnkids.com

I was very excited to see PBK embracing organics. However, when I a called and ask if their cotton was certified organic I was told after much delay that they aren’t using certified organic cotton. I found this quite disturbing. I am hoping that the sales rep was wrong but so far have been unable to get any other information.
