Not Always Cynical About Concrete

Good morning, it is the second day of West Coast Green. We will be reporting about our amazing finds for days to come, but here is the first contribution. Syndecrete is a cementitious composite that’s made up of natural minerals and recycled materials with aggregates including post-consumer bottled glass, tempered glass, wood chips, metal shavings and shells. It’s lightweight and strong - with half the weight and twice the compressive strength of ordinary concrete, won’t off-gas and utilizes a water-based sealant. With a decidedly contemporary feel Syndecrete works well for a variety of applications. It comes in tiles, sinks, slabs, and tabletops that can be used in
interior, exterior, residential and commercial projects and can be
customized to whatever your needs may be. Consider an outdoor shower tiled with Syndecrete or line your poolside in one of their twenty-five trademarked colors. If you’re going for LEED certification, Syndecrete contributes a number of credits under several categories. Founder, David Hertz says espouses that he is dedicated to the environment and to recapturing materials from our waste stream to incorporate into his products. Let’s put what he saves to good use!
