Of Heath and Home

A ceramic classic, Edith Heath and her namesake company are iconic in the design world, especially in the Bay Area where she founded her company, Heath Ceramics on the principles of excellent design, sustainability and longevity. Energy-efficient materials are sourced locally and Heath has developed clay that requires one kiln firing (vs. two) and at a lower temperature than other clays. We are not the first to praise the clean, modern tableware but it is worthwhile to note that you do not need to forgo these gorgeous pieces when creating your own eco-abode. We love the unique colors and hand-applied glazes of the dishes. But it is the tiles that make me yearn for another bathroom or kitchen remodel (not a feeling that often comes over me). Heath’s products are meant to last and the classic designs endure – which leads to little waste, because you will want to keep them forever.
