I've tried some LEDs that have been really poor. The only ones I've been excited about that I've seen in action are the CREE LED fixtures, which have a ~$100 price point. The reading light is of a betetr quality due to the coherent light beam. These are also available in Ireland from Energysense.ie in bayonet (B22) base (for €29.99). It's best to use them initially to replace the longest burning incandescents in the house, like hallways, porch. That way the ROI is fastest.
