Kids Gone Wild

feral-childe

City dwellers get a touch of the great outdoors with Feral Childe’s Spring 2009 Collection – aptly named “Yosemite.” Inspired by the rushing rivers and mountain peaks of the favorite national park, the clothing collection is equal parts playful adventuress and urban art scene.

Women-owned bi-coastal designers (Oakland, CA and Brooklyn, NY, respectively), Alice Wu and Moriah Carlson, source local and sustainable fabrics – about 75% of the line is made of new eco-friendly materials like organic cotton and hemp while the remaining portion is comprised of mill-end overstock fabric. The edgy, artisan vibe comes from the fact that each piece is hand dyed, hand painted and hand screened (even the chunky buttons are hand-cast!), making Feral Childe the most fashionable way to “go play outside” even while having to log hours in an office.
