In the Raw
With the goal to “help people find enhanced wellness by rethinking traditional cuisine,” Matthew Kenney is taking the culinary world by storm. A raw chef, Kenney is passionate about teaching the world about the incredible benefits of food in their natural form (without all the over-processing). Having tasted his delights firsthand, we highly recommend a pop in to one of his many restaurants. You’ll be more than surprised at the color and complexity with which Kenney can shape common food varieties.
In lieu of a meal prepared for you, Kenney has equipped us with a few guiding tutorials – namely his fab cookbooks. We love Everyday Raw’s recipes for blended smoothies and juices (make sure to check out the recipe for the triple c morning drink with cayenne for a morning kick that’ll last all day!), and Entertaining in the Raw for wowing guests. If you’ve never experienced raw food, these books are a great place to start – the photography alone will lure you in. For summertime entertaining, cooking raw is a great way to step away from the high heat of conventional cooking and try something new. Fresh, flavorful and full of color – everything you need in a meal for good friends!
