Is Fido is the only family member who hasn’t gone eco? If that’s the case, then it is high time for a canine makeover.

The Good Dog Company offers a great line of organic cotton and hemp collars for dogs and cats, as well as leashes, harnesses and dog toys. The line comes in a variety of cute prints in hemp canvas, or solids in a hemp corduroy.

The Good Dog Company’s mission revolves around the belief that we humans have a responsibility to promote awareness of sustainable products and practices, right down to our pets’ apparel. In support of this effort the company manufactures its goods using hemp and other natural fibers so that they are sustainable, safe and durable. It employs a local workforce and emphasizes American craftsmanship and sweatshop free labor and has reduced its manufacturing waste through careful consumption and recycling.

In addition, the Golden, Colo.-based company donates a portion of its profits to environmental and social causes, both nationally and locally. Recipients of the company’s donations include Leave No Trace, EnvironmentColorado, the Denver Dumb Friends League and The Humane Society.
