Happy Earth Day Baby
We love our children every day, but one day out of the year we turn all of our focus on them… shouldn’t our earth get the same treatment? Earth Week provides us all with an opportunity to increase our awareness, no matter how conscious we try to be on a daily basis.
To help give you a better understanding of the most popular environmental buzzwords, ecofabulous teamed up with Stroller Traffic to create a super simple Green Glossary, specifically with moms’ (and their kid’s) interests in mind.
The Eco-Mom’s Green Glossary
BIODEGRADABLE: A product that can be broken down to its natural elements, creating no waste. It’s the eco-conscious choice for disposable baby products like wipes and diapers.
BPA: A chemical building block found in hard plastic bottles (like, yes, baby bottles). The chemical, which can be released when heated, disrupts hormones in your body. Milk may do a body good, but BPA doesn’t!
CARBON FOOTPRINT: The impact of human activity on the environment, measured in terms of carbon dioxide produced. Even little ones can have surprisingly large carbon footprints, so be sure to teach your children about the effects of their actions.
COMPOSTABLE: A product that can be broken down at the same rate as paper and can support plant life. Compostable products (such as plates and cutlery for picnics and BBQs) are usually made of materials like corn and potato.
