Shop Talk, Talk Techie To Me:

We Left a Big Shoe to Fill

We’ve gotten used to having the younger generation show us how to use our computers, PDAs and Twitter accounts – but now they’re going after our carbon footprint’s!

Zerofootprint.com has launched a footprint calculator for kids at zerofootprintkids.com. By entering in information about transportation (do you walk, take the bus, or do your parent’s drive you to school?), what you eat, home and school, what you use, and what you throw away, each child can calculate his/her carbon footprint and take note of what they can do to minimize it. There’s also a special resource section for teachers and parents so the calculation can become a classroom or family activity.

More than ever, the future is in the hands of the next generation. But when you’re learning how to follow in your child’s footsteps, you know the times, they are a changin’ – for the better.
