Fashion Show in the Forest

green-gala

Imagine models gliding down a runway lined with Redwood trees, wearing all sustainable and local designs, showcasing plant based dyes found only a few feet away in a lush botanical garden. Join the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden at their Green Gala fundraiser on June 28th from 2-5pm to witness this ethereal fashion show while tasting seasonal, organic delights from Devoted Catering by Aimee Alan, and sipping on biodynamic wine from Quivira Vineyards – all while enjoying live music beneath the trees.

The fundraiser will highlight the role the garden plays in furthering the relationship between plants and people with a bamboo garden structure and displays of fiber and dye plants used in the Garden’s acclaimed collection. The fashion show features a host of talented designers including: Jonathan Baker, Skye Schuchman, Heather Howard, Sasha Duerr, Ashley Rose Helvey, Savannah Knoop, Tierra del Forte, The Moon, Ocelot, and Mr.Larkin. Additionally, there will be a silent auction of gorgeous and green items to raise much needed funds for the garden’s living collections – all taking place in the stunning Redwood Grove Amphitheatre. It’s truly an event you won’t want to miss!

Tickets are $95 in advance, $115 at the door. To purchase, or to learn more about the event, click here.
