Kitchen Confidential, Lifestyle:

The Art of Tequila

For those of you that swore off tequila post-college, it’s time to make amends with your estranged Mexican friend. Yes, you’re older, wiser, and, ahem… more refined. So is he.

Introducing the Artá line of ultra premium tequila. Triple distilled and aged up to two years, Artá’s blue agave is 100% estate grown on a single ranch in Jalisco, Mexico (just like true Champagne must come from the Champagne region of France, Mexican law states that agave for tequila must come from the state of Jalisco – but Artá goes even a step further in quality and purity with its super localized and controlled production). And then there’s the family secret recipe – and we’re assured that it’s of the “if I tell you, I’ll have to kill you” variety - carried out by the 3rd generation master distiller. Whatever they’ve got hidden away, we’re just happy the results are available for public consumption.

In the process of obtaining organic certification, Artá is committed to sustainable and earth friendly practices from harvesting to distillation to bottling. No pesticides are used on the ranch where the agave plants are grown (one of the only true organic operations in the whole state), and the beautifully designed glass bottle is made of recycled glass with a refurbished metal bottle top and sustainably harvested cork stopper from Portugal. Plus 1% of profits are donated towards making life better for the environment and the communities Artá works with.
Choose from Artá Silver (pure and sweet with hints of citrus peel), Artá Reposado (warm and smokey with a finish of honey and vanilla) or Artá Anejo (sophisticated and sweet with vanilla and carmel).
