Mentored by William McDonough, Zem is a certified BuildItGreen design and strategy consultant and Cradle to Cradle enthusiast who helps companies and individuals create beautiful, smart, sustainable spaces and practices. Zem is the eco-luxury specialist for Planet Green’s Alter Eco and regularly contributes to various media. Much of her penchant for superior design came from her years at Splendora.com and living in Milan, Paris and London, but her love for the earth can be traced back to her early upbringing on a Palo Alto commune. As the mother of two children, Zem is committed to improving all families’ health, education and access to well-vetted information. To that end, she sits on the boards of Healthy Child, Healthy World, Global Green, and Teens for Safe Cosmetics.
Caitlin Bristol
Born and raised in Oregon, Caitlin focuses on developing spaces that seamlessly integrate the built environment with nature. After receiving her BA from Santa Clara University, she went on to complete a graduate program in Sustainable Design at UC Berkeley's extension campus in San Francisco. Spending summers in her mother’s native Australia, and traveling to over twenty countries, including India and South Africa, she has gained a deep appreciation of nature’s beautifully efficient, waste-free, regenerative cycles. Her travels serve as a constant point of inspiration as she strives to provide a platform that melds sustainability and high design. When she’s not out rummaging through a flea market or scoping out the latest vintage store, you’ll find her exploring the Bay Area on two wheels.
Leap Interiors
Leap Interior Design was created under the notion that luxurious interior spaces can reflect both beauty and environmental-consciousness. Principals Chelsea Brown and Jenn Joralemon use a unique project approach to bring to life each client's vision for their space. In doing so, they take to heart each client's values and goals as they relate to sustainability. Specializing in residential and boutique hospitality spaces, Chelsea and Jenn share a passion for both interior design and environmental stewardship. They draw on over 15 years of experience creating interior spaces that consistently exceed the exceptionally high standards of their clients.
