Come Clean

Based on the concept that every product has a life cycle - it’s produced, used, and somehow disposed of - comes a line of cleaning tools made from sustainable, biodegradable materials that are designed to eventually break back down into those same biodegradable materials. It’s called Full Circle.

The cleaning obsessed Full Circle crew took a look at the market filled with petroleum based dish brushes and sponges and did a little calculation - in the US alone, if one scrub brush per household was thrown out each year, that would equate to 120 million brushes ending up in the landfill (and since most of them are plastic, it will take about 1,000 years before they even start to breakdown). And so they set out to create a line of brushes and sponges on the basis of two questions: Where does the material used come from? And where will it go?

The beautifully designed line uses sustainable sourced materials like bamboo, post-consumer recycled plastic bristles, biodegradable Bonterra™ (a plant-based plastic that can be turned into mulch for an organic garden through processing in an industrial composting facility), and cellulose, among others. Try the Vegetable Brush Ring for a cleansing scrub that won’t bruise produce, or the Laid Back Dish Sponge - the completely biodegradable replaceable head will save you money in the long run, and reduces the amount of “waste” produced.
