Product Spotlight:
Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something (Ocean) Blue
What do weddings have to do with ocean conservation efforts? Before you say, “zilch,” consider what Tarzana, California-based boutique Lili Bridals is doing to save the whales and beautify brides-to-be in the process.
Moved by the story of “Ady Gil,” an anti-whaling powerboat which sunk after a tragic collision, boutique owner Lisa Litt sprung into action. In a serendipitous turn of events, Lili Bridals was already set to host a trunk show for green-conscious wedding gown designer Adele Wechsler, providing the perfect opportunity to fundraise for the construction of “Ady Gill II.”
From February 5th through 7th, you can shop the Adele Wechsler trunk show with hopes of finding the dress for your big day, whilst knowing that five percent of every piece sold will go toward a worthy cause.
Described as gowns designed “for the bride who cares about the world in which she lives,” we would add that Wechsler caters to women whose style is as timeless and lasting as the sustainably-produced dresses. Wechsler’s designs are figure-conscious and boast couture construction, such as the bias-cut sunray dress and organic hemp and silk sierra (mountain range) design. Her creations pack romantic “oomph,” with flair that is modern, yet reminiscent of every girl’s fairy tale fantasy.
Best of all, California brides, you have the chance to meet Wechsler herself at the three-day trunk show and make additional donations to rebuilding efforts, if you so choose. For more information on the event, call 818.774.9700, and in the meantime, you can pour over images of Wechsler’s gorgeous, veggie-dyed, couture bridal gowns online.
