Shiny and new trinket parts aren’t just predictable, they’re wasteful, which is why Baker prefers working with found items like old car parts, recycled glass, reclaimed leather, bone, driftwood, and vintage chains. Chalk up the use of these inspiring parts to Baker’s upbringing: raised around forests and beaches in the Seattle area, she strives to evoke these stunning surroundings in her work. This au natural spirit certainly shines through, as does something of Baker’s punky-cool personality, with a provocative Winter lookbook to match.
