Product Spotlight:
Hey, Miss DJ!
Smitten. That’s the only way to describe the way we feel about Tirana Jewelry, a collection of fanciful rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and brooches that carry some serious cool cache. Tirana’s ahead-of-the-curve aesthetic can be attributed to DJ-come-designer Graciela Fuentes, whose turntable pseudonym—”Tirana Del Amor”—provided the name and inspiration for the line. For Fuentes, jewelery making isn’t about creating overly precious little trinkets, but pieces that are high on style, sustainability, and unapologetically bold.
Fusing the best of old and new school, Fuentes’ original designs are made from found objects sourced from around the world. Unusual items like machine parts are repurposed as intricate lavaliers and pendants that get their edge from the discarded bits and bobs. Think of it as an accessories remix: a mashup of Fuentes’ creativity and metals cobbled together to make some seriously hip baubles. In addition to boasting beauty and street cred, the pieces are reasonably priced to boot. With prices hovering in the $100-200 range, getting a piece of the Tirana action isn’t out of reach. If Fuentes is just getting started, we can’t wait to see what lies ahead. Surely it’ll be enough for a Greatest Hits collection in the future.
