Best Seat in the House

saylchair

Inspired by the principles of suspension bridges, Cradle to Cradle designer Yves Behar has succeeding in creating a stunning Herman Miller office chair that not only encourages healthy back posture without looking the least bit orthopedic, but has an “eco-dematerialized” design where fewer materials used in inventive ways mean less cost for the consumer pocketbook and the planet.

After first giving the SAYL chair a test-ride at CES in January, we’re still of the mindset that it’s the best on the market in its price range (starting at $399, it’s considerably lower than many Herman Miller office chairs). Aside from the elegant engineering, we love the throwback to our city’s iconic landmark bridge, and the slight nod to the sailing ships that pass below. Not that you’d ever imagine tiring of such a piece of art, but when that day should come, know that the chair is 93% recyclable, ensuring there’s the capacity for more life beyond your backside.
