Four-eyes. Specky. There are plenty of not-so-nice terms the bespectacled may have been called growing up, but oh how the tables have turned. Now, not only are these nicknames passé, but wearing glasses is a certifiably cool fashion statement.

While skinny jean-wearing creative types tend to favor their Ray Bans and thick horn-rimmed frames, we’ve found glasses that break the hipster mold in more ways than one. Sires Crown is the king of eco-eyewear, with optical and sunglass collections fashioned of woods sourced from Forest Stewardship Council Certified suppliers. Each hand crafted creation has durable Swiss hinges and comes in rich finishes like Italian Ebony, Walnut, and striped Zebrano. And, with names like “Dylan Thomas” and “Fellini,” you can choose a style that flaunts your allegiance to both sustainability and your favorite cultural heroes.

Using ethically sourced, high quality materials is central to the company’s mission, as is giving back; this is why they’re proud members of Trees For The Future, a group that plants trees in areas that need them the most. You can do your part for the movement by purchasing a pair of eyewear and receive a chic perk out the exchange. If Miss Dorothy Parker caught a glimpse of these ultra-stylish glasses, we’re certain she would swallow her now infamous words.

Sire’s Crown wood sunglasses are junk as is the after sales service. Purchased a $330 pair of the Koa Morea sunglasses from the Waikiki Sheraton Koa wood store. The wood warped (presumably from the change in temp/humidity) when I brought them back to Pennsylvania. This caused the lens to pop out. LensCrafters was not able to get the lens to stay in again nor were they able to straighten the warping of the frame around the lens. Generic response after contacting the company the second time with no offer of exchange or return despite it being an obvious manufacturing flaw.

Hello, I just wanted to give an update on my review. The issue was resolved properly by the manufacterer. Apparently there was a a misunderstanding on my part and I contacted the incorrect company with my complaint. Everything was fully resolved. The glasses really are stunning and the issue I experienced is not typical.
