Fuel Up for Fright Night

Sometimes you need a little fuel before Halloween’s gorge-fest of gummy worms and peanut butter cups (pssst…have you seen our 2012 guide?). This year, starting at 4pm on October 31, stop by Chipotle Mexican Grill to power up before the trick-or-treating festivities with the company’s annual “Boorito” Fundraiser. For only $2, you’ll get a burrito, bowl, salad, or order of tacos made with responsibly raised ingredients — as long as you come in costume. It’s a great deal, to be sure; but the sweetest part of all is that proceeds up to $1 million will benefit the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to creating a more sustainable and healthful food supply. The foundation supports family farmers and their communities, educators, and programs that teach younger generations about food matters, along with support for ranchers and farmers who are working to develop more sustainable practices.

The deal is on until closing time on Halloween, and there’s also a costume contest for participants (you could win $2,500 + other prizes). For more information and contest rules, visit chipotle.com/boorito. And while you’re at it, be sure to check out the Boorito-inspired (and seriously funny — no trick) short film featuring comedian Rob Riggle.
