Rest in (Green) Peace

You’ve embraced an eco lifestyle…so does that mean that you’ll be green after life is, um, over and done? Lately, the funeral industry has started offering the more environmentally-friendly option of resomation, or “no-flame cremation” — and along with it comes the introduction of memorial vessels that can also help reduce a carbon footprint.

Take these new memorial urns from Une Belle Vie. The now-expanded line of fully biodegradable urns (starting at $60) can last for quite some time in a temperature-controlled environment; in water or buried, they quickly and completely biodegrade. The collection ranges from traditional-shaped cremation urns made of clay, organic proteins, and sand, to wooden boxes void of toxic finishes and plastic or metal hinges. There’s also a selection of simple baked-clay vessels in a variety of sizes, which includes options for pets.

It’s an interesting way to make sure you’ve gone green from smart to finish, no? Check out the collection now at decorative-urns.com.
