The Definition of “Best Dressed”
Around here, we think every red carpet should go green. And that’s why we’re proud that our fearless founder Zem is once again helping bring ecofabulous-ness to Hollywood’s biggest night — the Oscars — as a judge for this year’s Red Carpet Green Dress Contest.
Started by Suzy Amis Cameron, environmental advocate and wife of director James Cameron, the contest challenges designers across the globe to create an Oscar-worthy gown made entirely of sustainable materials. Going into its fourth year, Red Carpet Green Dress is also working with an organization near and dear to our hearts — the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute — to provide entrants with a selection of certified sustainable fabrics to choose from. The winning design will be worn by a surprise Hollywood actress on the red carpet at the 85th Academy Awards on February 24, 2013. (Missi Pyle of “The Artist” wore this year’s dress, a stunner designed by Valentino Delfino using organic chiffon, peace silk, and a recycled polyester lining. Check out the pics here.)
Green doesn’t get more gorgeous than this. For info and to find out how to enter a design, head over to redcarpetgreendress.com.
