The Kitchen Gets Hotter
I love San Francisco, but this week, how I wish I were in Denver… For the much anticipated opening of The Kitchen Denver. This highly acclaimed Boulder-born eatery is the brain & heart child of Kimbal Musk (tech genius & chef), Hugo Matheson (celebrated chef) & Kim Lewin (designer). Many of the building materials and most of the formal light fixtures are ‘repurposed,” – made from existing materials, and designed by co-founder Lewin.
The wine-by-the-glass program at The Kitchen Denver is 100 percent from wine kegs, selected by Kitchen Wine Director Tim Wanner, who looks for small, often family wineries, and ensures they are all from sustainable or organic viticulture.
Chef Hugo Matheson maintains a close a relationship with the farmers, ranchers and producers that the Kitchen is supplied by. Additionally, the younger but bigger sister, Kitchen Denver boasts a Seafood Bar, which features sustainably-caught seafood. And for caviar buffs, there is a service featuring only California-sourced caviar.
Get ready to pull up a chair at one of the communal tables.
