Tunes for Fair Trade

There’s lots to love about October. The changing colors on the trees. Halloween (of course). The heroic efforts placed behind National Breast Cancer Awareness. And one of our favorites? October is Fair Trade Month.

To celebrate, Green Mountain Coffee and acclaimed musicians Grace Potter and Michael Franti have teamed up for “Great Coffee, Good Vibes, Pass It On,” a campaign designed to increase awareness for fair trade and the positive impact it has on farmers all over the world. Earlier this year, Potter and Franti visited farms in Colombia and Sumatra, Indonesia, where they saw firsthand how fair trade helps the lives of farming families. By liking the Green Mountain Facebook page, you can see photos and videos from their trips, and even enter to win a trip of your own to Costa Rica.

The two musicians are also lending their talents to the cause: Michael will give an exclusive livestreamed performance from Los Angeles on October 24 via the Green Mountain Facebook page. Grace has already performed her own concert, but you’re in luck: it will livestream again on the Green Mountain Coffee Facebook page tonight — October 15 — at 9pm EST. Click here for details.
