Reclaimed Space Showhouse at Dwell on Design

ecofabulous was invited to design the interior of a 400 sq. ft. Reclaimed Space Showhouse at this year’s Dwell on Design Conference, the West Coast’s largest modern design show. The house was built by Reclaimed Space™ using salvaged materials displayed on the tradeshow floor at the Los Angeles Convention Center, June 26-June 28, 2009 - and was auctioned after the show on eBay.com with proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity LA.

ecofabulous Founder and Executive Editor Zem Joaquin and her team created the design aesthetic in collaboration with Jay Jeffers of Jeffers Design Group. For this project, they worked with more than 20 top manufacturers of eco-products to present a home that was beautiful, inviting, and incredibly environmentally friendly. Every aspect of the home was evaluated based on stringent sustainability criteria and energy efficient design.

The house, surrounded by a low-maintenance garden of native and naturalized plants, featuring a living wall was a center piece and magnificent example of beautiful, creative and functional and earthy friendly design.

ecofabulous thanks its many partners and sponsors for the show house interior. This was a premier display of an eco friendly, fabulous home. For those of you who missed the show, see here for a online tour and get tips and resources for what you can do in your home.
