Conscious Living with The Kennedy’s

Earlier this year on a trip out to New York, ecofabulous was invited out to The Kennedy Residence for a private tour of their newly remodeled, totally eco-friendly home. Zem on the Clinton Global Initiative, the Cradle to Cradle Institute & Safer Products for Future Generations

This year’s Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting (CGI) has been all about commitments that will make a positive difference around the world. Yesterday, during the Market-Based Solutions for Protecting the Environment session at CGI, the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute (formerly the Green Products Innovation Institute) joined industry and NGOs on stage to contribute its own global commitment to train at least 100 assessors and certify 1,000 products by 2015. This is part of the Institute’s effort to jumpstart a market for new product development that will protect human health and the environment while growing the economy. (more…)

Keepin’ It In the Loop

Since the beginning of apparel manufacturing there has been fabric waste. In 2006 American’s alone generated more than 11.8 million tons of textile waste. Thankfully, certain companies have developed ways to recycle this leftover fabric and turn waste into revenue and revamped clothing. Looptworks makes all of their products from 100% pre-consumer excess material that was meant for the landfill - including every zipper, button, and thread. (more…)

A Visit to Weleda Naturals

This summer, ecofabulous was invited to visit Weleda Naturals Biodynamic Garden just outside of Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. With our love of Weleda products (we’re constant fans of the Almond facial line and have been using the Pomegranate Regenerating Body Oil since it came out last year) we jumped at the chance to visit the site where it all goes down.
