Truly Beautiful Guide, Part 1: Skincare

If you’ve read ecofabulous before, you know that in trying to live a more conscious life, we have no intention of missing out on fashion trends, giving up our bright red lipstick, or forgoing sky high stilettos. We believe in high style with low impact, and while we love getting gussied up for the green carpet as much as the next girl, our definition of beauty doesn’t have room for things that make you (or the planet) sick.

In trying to round-up our top favorite brands for eco-beauty, the task was overwhelming. Lucky for all of us, the problem lie in the fact that today there really are an incredible plethora of options. So while this guide is by no means exhaustive of all the great brands available (feel free to peruse our entire ecobeauty vertical for more ideas), we did try our best to spotlight the products we rave about most. This list is a collection of the lines and products that you’ll find in the bathrooms and handbags of the ecofabulous ladies, the ones we’re pushing on our friends and gabbing about at the office.

SKINCARE: From cleansers to toners to oil-free moisture and anti-aging eye cream, these companies keep the most precious part of your epidermis looking fabulously flawless.

	Pangea Organics: One of the original pioneers in organic skincare, Pangea Organics uses “high-quality bioactive raw ingredients” so the formulas are ultra-concentrated and effective. 	Duchess Marden: With beautifully feminine branding designed to appeal to your inner regal side (the line’s been picked up by stores like Anthropologie), Duchess Marden’s products are luxuriously effective, yet light enough for the most sensitive of skin types. We’ve also recently fallen for the newly released body serum.  Favorites: Damascena Neck & Décolleté Serum ($59); Damascena Pure Rose Water ($39)
	Marie Veronique Organics: The mother-daughter duo of Marie Veronique Organics (one part chemistry teacher, one part physics professor) has created a 4-step skincare regimen that gently cleanses, hydrates and replenishes skin with gentle formulas that utilize nature’s intelligent ingredients rather than harsh synthetic chemicals.  Favorites: Exfoliating Cleanser ($35); Tinted SPF 30 Moisturizing Face Screen ($40)
	NUDE Skincare: Brought to you by humanitarians Bono and his gorgeous wife Ali Hewson, it’s not surprising that NUDE (EDUN – yes same married duo – spelled backwards) is completely natural, organic and minimalist.   Favorites: Advanced Cellular Renewal Serum ($92); Replenishing Night Oil ($68)
	Tata Harper: One look at a product from Tata Harper’s line and it’s easy to see why the small bottles pack such a powerful punch. All of Tata’s ingredients are selected for a reason, with some products containing over 25 active ingredients! High grade natural ingredients can be expensive to source, store and formulate, but the results will leave your skin feeling young, supple and rejuvenated like never before.  Favorites: Hydrating Rebuilding Moisturizer ($100); Restorative Eye Cream ($90)
	Living Nature: Living Nature is produced exclusively with ingredients found in New Zealand – and since over 80% of the country’s plants are found nowhere else in the world, it’s no wonder this line is truly unique to what exists on the market today.  Favorites: Hydrating Toning Gel ($35); Firming Flax Serum ($47)
