Reinventing the Way We Look at Laundry

This post is sponsored by Whirlpool.

What’s gentle enough to care for the most delicate of clothes and has a haute style to rival the most couture of wardrobes? Whirlpool brand discovered that consumers are clamoring for style, functionality and eco-efficiency and is bringing laundry out of the “sea of white” and onto the runway – or your family’s laundry room – with its new Vantage™ washer and dryer.

When you hear words such as: fashionable, sleek, eco, chrome, LCD, and USB ports, the last thing that comes to mind is a washer and dryer. But the new Whirlpool® Vantage™ laundry pair is anything but typical. The stylish pair combines technology, high-style, and efficiency into a high-performance laundry duo. And it’s coming to The Ki’s Smart Living Gallery this weekend, October 22nd-24th.

Based on a November online survey conducted by Harris Interactive on the Whirlpool brand’s behalf, a variety of features are exactly what consumers are looking for. First, the majority of adults (25%) said that the washer and dryer are in or near the kitchen, making the case for stylish and functional laundry appliances. The Vantage washer and features sleek curved styling, reminiscent of a high-performance car and begging to be shown off.

Also according to the survey, 11 percent of men are looking for the latest technology and features when it comes to appliances; and, consumers in the highest income segment are twice as likely to say they’ll spend more on new technology (16%) than other income segments. To appeal to this segment’s need to have the hottest “it” product, the Vantage pair includes features like an LCD touch screen with vibrant color images that are easy-to-use and free up the pair’s console, further complementing its sleek style. Also, the Vantage washer and dryer have the industry’s first USB ports as well as customizable laundry cycles, and Stain Assist option born from the Whirlpool Institute of Fabric Science to help consumers get out tough stains.

Finally, the high-efficiency Vantage pair is smart and green. The washer uses an impeller with a low water wash system, using 75 percent less water and 73 percent less energy than conventional models, and saving more than $1,300 on utility bills over its lifetime (based on a 10-year lifetime). Additionally, the Vantage dryer features an eco setting, which reduces energy consumption through efficient heat management. Finally, the pair features the industry-first EcoMonitor that not only measures your energy and water savings per load, and it monitors the usage history, taking the guesswork out of laundry.
