Get Under this Brelli

The Brelli may just look like an undeniably stylish rendition of the typical umbrella, but encapsulated within its canopy lies a pretty cool (one might say revolutionary) technology. They’ve patented a way to make plastic 100% biodegradable in a traditional landfill - the Brelli is estimated to completely decompose in 18 - 24 months. Most things labeled “biodegradable” are contingent upon being composted - which poses a problem in areas where such facilities do not exist. The idea of designing products that will biodegrade no matter where they find themselves at the end of their useful life-cycle is a good one indeed. And the gases released during the degrading process of the Brelli can potentially be harvested to generate electricity - very groovy if it’s realized. The Brelli should last you a while though, as the frame is constructed of our tougher-than-steel, rapidly-renewable friend, bamboo.

Great blog!

If the economics don’t work, recycling efforts won’t either.
As our little contribution to make this economics of recycling more appealing, http://LivePaths.com blogs about people and companies that make money selling recycled or reused items, provide green services or help us reduce our dependency on non renewable resources.
