Head Over Heels
Date: January 20, 2010 | Category: Fashion, Shoes, Women

While we may hover somewhere closer to “serious obsession” on the shoe fetish spectrum, we think you’d be hard pressed to find a fashionable gal that wouldn’t swoon at first sighting for the Italian-made Tashkent by Cheyenne line. But there’s no guilt in these pleasures - the talented designer uses organic materials like cork, B1 (scrap or remnant) leather, and eco-friendly dying methods and vegetable-tanning (as opposed to the conventional toxic method of chromium).
Angelenos got to witness the collection firsthand in The ecofabulous Lounge in L.A. at Opportunity Green last November - click here to see photos from the event. New Yorkers got to see Zem strut a pair of linen Tashkent’s in the Maka style at eBay’s Holiday Pop-Up Marketplace in December.
From coast to coast the consensus was similar - an incredibly talented designer, a fashion forward collection, and a sincere commitment to using earth-friendly methods in manufacturing. Sigh… we’ve truly fallen head over heels.

I love the natural look in these designs. This designer proves that eco friendly can be eco chic. Thank you for sharing!
