Sue Rocks!
Date: July 14, 2008 | Category: Fashion, Women
When we chanced upon the bold crimson bolero jacket, the champagne satin striped skirt and the purple plaid fringed mini (shown), we knew we loved Sue Rock’s style. But we’re always thrilled to discover an artist who’s as passionate about aesthetic innovation as ethical green business. Sue Rock is such an eco-artisan. This fall, Sue Rock Originals, headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, will be launching a line of hand-knit, hand-crocheted sweaters and custom-tailored designs with the help of a cooperative of Rwandan refugees and some of the best knitters in New York City. Her exquisite women’s apparel is hand-crafted from organic llama wool and 100% reclaimed textiles, including
organic cotton, linen and silks.
In addition to creating luxurious one-of-a-kind pieces for purchase, Sue scours local fashion houses and businesses for discarded textiles and works with Safe
Horizon to help create clothing and home accessories for domestic violence survivors and women in need. Rock on Sue!
