The Eco It Bag
Date: October 12, 2007 | Category: Accessories, Fashion
I’ve scoured the globe for the perfect purse - believe me. Just when I thought a luxury was unable to address all-encompassing ethics boat, Vegan Queen delivered. Evelina, the multi-faceted artist and model behind this hot satchel company, was simultaneously unsatisfied with the simple, unattractive designs and their toxic vinyl-based counterparts when it came to the vegan world’s answer to the purse. Far from being mutually exclusive, being vegan and an environmentalist should be symbiotic, no? Being kind to animals while creating toxic waste that will end up choking multiple species just seems so hypocritical. Vegan Queen sought to address that conundrum. What results from Evelina’s convictions is a high-style collection that is recyclable, non-toxic, organic, cruelty free and made in the USA. Each handbag emanates “eco-luxury” as its mantra, crafted with materials such as monogram-embossed 100% natural rubber, nickel-free zippers, PVC-free eco-polymers, organic cotton fleece lining and recycled crest medallions. A company that is committed to socially conscious luxury - one might call that ecofabulous!

Most of the vegan bags that I find are still made out of PVC, even from my all-time favorite brand Matt & Nat … but these … wowza!

I just received my Eco It bag last week, and I was pleasantly surprised by the esthetic, not just on the outside but on the inside. The inner lining was the softest cotton you have ever seen, or touched…it made we want to keep reaching in the bag all day. The bag survived all that horrible rain in the Bay Area this past Saturday, thanks in part to the rubber, and PVC-free “leather”. F-i-E-R-C-E
