Ramblin’ Man

What could be next after founding the most successful natural toothpaste brand to date? A line of superfine, sustainable, American worsted wool apparel, of course. Ok maybe the connection isn’t abundantly clear, but with a longstanding passion for creating superior products and a sustainable lifestyle, Tom’s of Maine founders, Tom and Kate Chappell, have pursued their desire to re-imagine wool as an incredibly luxurious, ecologically responsible fabric.
A natural, renewable fiber, wool also inherently possesses properties for water repellency, water absorption, odor control, and superior insulation. Adding to the fact that it is naturally flame resistant (no more toxic fire retardant chemicals!) as well as naturally resistant to wrinkling and soiling, this makes wool one of the most impressive choices for apparel fabric on the market. And it can be manufactured locally! Need we say more?
Farmed and produced in the U.S. (this cuts down on the carbon footprint associated with many Merino wools coming from overseas), the Ramblers Way line is a collection of high quality basics designed for that superior next-to-skin feel . We’ve fallen for the extra long women’s camisole, which has proven to dramatically increase our daytime comfort level in this breezy city by the bay - it’s also a great top for yoga or pilates.
