Date: March 30, 2009 | Category: Events, Fashion, Media, Men, Women
Last week’s opening night for Edun’s Pop-Up Shop at Clary Sage Organics was a huge success - the store was filled to the brim with Bay Area fashion aficionados sipping on wine and sampling eco-conscious skin care products while taking turns trying on Edun’s new Spring Line. Amongst a mad dash for the dressing room (the Hexagon Sweater in African Violet was definitely the talk of the evening!), ecofabulous got a chance to catch up with Edun founder and sustainable fashion visionary, Ali Hewson, to hear a little bit more about the inspiration behind the extraordinary organic clothing line. Hot Stuff
Date: March 30, 2009 | Category: Fashion, Women
As temperatures hit the 80s here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we can’t help but start thinking about what summer will have in store for us. Kate D’Arcy for Toggery has procured a line of fun, flirty clothes that scream summer. With bright colors like red, teal and fuscia, Toggery is a testament that eco-friendly dyes need not be dull and lifeless. These organics flow and don’t hug the body too tight for those especially hot days. Plus they’re versatile; they can be dressed up or down and can be worn morning, noon and night. Made entirely from organic cotton and bamboo in a domestic, “certified socially responsible ” manufacturing company, these pieces will not only prove to be long-lasting essentials in your wardrobe, but make an essential statement about everyday wear for the eco-fashionista.

As we emerge from winter’s grey-tinged haze, we dream less about sugarplums and more about achieving the ever-elusive perfect tan. Buddha Has the Power to Banish
Date: March 27, 2009 | Category: Beauty, Body Care

Though we don’t expect a balm to banish all signs of PMS (and I’m not admitting to ever falling victim to it), this one from Buddha Nose uses organic and wild-crafted essential oils (in particular: clary sage, rose, geranium, ginger root and black pepper) that can be rubbed onto the belly to promote hormone balance and circulation. In addition, the Girl Balm uses unrefined beeswax (vegans beware), organic hemp seed oil and jojoba to soothe and soften the skin. For surprising relief on those days (even if it only comes from the seductive, recyclable packaging), the Girl Balm is the bomb!
