Winner Announced for eBay’s Creative Reuse Competition!

Last fall, ecofabulous teamed up with eBay’s Green Team to launch the Creative Reuse Contest for the third and final phase of the re+purpose campaign. DIY maven and ecofabulous founder, Zem Joaquin, created three DIY projects (a cabinet, a telephone bench, and a couch) to serve as guides and inspiration for the contest, encouraging talented people across America to give new life to old objects and submit before and after pictures of the creative ways in which they’ve repurposed what already exists in the world today. Ecofab TV: 2010 Global Green Pre-Oscar Party

Last week’s 7th annual Global Green Pre-Oscar Party in Los Angeles saw Hollywood celebs like Jessica Alba, Leonardo DiCaprio, Radha Mitchell, Sebastian Copeland, Suzy & James Cameron, Serena Williams, former Spice Girl Mel B and more. The Art of Dumpster Diving

Cast aside any previous notions you had about digging through the trash. The Recology SF (San Francisco’s re-branded waste management system) Artist in Residence program is revolutionizing the way this city’s inhabitants view their castaways. By providing local artists with work space, a monthly stipend, and unlimited access to materials (namely in the form of recycled goods and found items at “the dump”), this innovative program is offering inspiration and education to the community. An Environment of Sustainable Luxury

Green happenings are making waves at Environment’s expansive 5,500 square foot LA showroom of eco-luxury furniture. At last year’s “Opportunity Green VIP Mixer” executives from XPrize, Dwell, Disney, Global Green USA and Gensler met to mingle and view the hot, new MINI-E electric cars. Another co-hosted success was with “Greening Hollywood,” a lavishly divine dinner catered by MILK’s chef Bret Thompson for 20 people from industries such as landscape design, film studios (Universal), the Makeup Artist Guild, Sebastian Copeland and Zahava Stroud of Hollywood Goes Green.
