Tour de Green, Venice
Date: October 11, 2007 | Category: Events, Green Building
If you’re all about green design, just a curious and concerned individual or are interested in how you might incorporate some of the latest innovations into your own home, the doors will soon be open to tour the latest and greatest. Running October 11-28, Project7Ten and Healthy Child Healthy World are offering a Green Home Tour of one of the first platinum LEED certified homes on the West Coast located in Venice, California. This unveiling comes from the collaborative hands of developer Tom Schey, architect Melinda Gray and environmentalist Kelly Meyer and promises to satisfy the modernist’s eye for design, as well as those interested in creating homes that are healthier for all. Drawing upon as many sustainable principles as they could get their hands on, this green home was constructed as an educational model to create a forum for smart discussion and environmental awareness. Additionally, every weekend valuable eco-prizes will be awarded. So the tour promises to be a great learning opportunity (not to mention a fun outing), and, as an added bonus, 100% of the proceeds will benefit Healthy Child Healthy World, an organization dedicated to protecting the health and well being of children. Truly a win, win… win. For tickets and additional info, click here.
