Brunching Green With Mom…And Beyond

Mother’s Day is just around the corner (May 11th, for the truly preoccupied). In our experience, if there’s one thing a mom really wants, it’s to spend the day with her kids. So we’re thinking, what better way to celebrate than a beautiful, organic meal from an eco-eatery?

If you’re in or around the Bay Area, the special 4-course-prix-fix Mother’s Day Brunch at Millennium will be unforgettable (unless mom drinks one too many of the complimentary Bellinis), as most of their healthy, vegan gourmet fare tends to be. But if you’re looking for a more down-to-earth meal, you can, quite literally, show mom the gratitude she deserves at one of the raw-foods Cafe Gratitude locations (two in SF, one in Marin, and one in Berkeley). For the Portland, Oregonian, Iorio’s brings their Southern Italian flair to a special Mother’s Day Brunch that includes the chef’s revered homemade gnocchi of the day. Jump over to Chicago, and the brunch menu at Bistro Campagne leaves nothing to be desired in the way of scrumptious organic plates - or charming outdoor seating amidst their garden. Dinner in Los Angeles: the Sunday Supper (prix-fix) at Lucques is magnificent - yum…local, sustainable edibles. In Dallas, Texas: York Street shines as usual with a seasonal, farm-to-table menu - and they’re opening their doors Sunday night for all the moms in town (usually closed Sundays and Mondays). In Boulder, Colorado consider yourself lucky to have The Kitchen at your doorstep - bring mom to their Monday Night Community dinner, served family style (seems appropriate). And for the New Yorkers in the mix, visit one of the two vegetarian Gobo locations for their amazing organic beverages (exceptionally unique smoothies) and “food for the five senses” rooted in Zen compassion. These are some of our favorite suggestions, but if you live elsewhere (or would like to consider other options), check out LocalHarvest or the Eat Well Guide to find the perfect place to show mom how much you care.

I trust this finds all well with you! Your site is terrific. We are helping Whole Foods Market raise awareness of a podcast series they are running.

http://wholefoodsmarket.com/socialmedia/wholebody/

This month’s Whole Body podcast topic covers natural home Spa options, which are great gift ideas for Mother’s Day.

I thought you might find the announcement interesting enough to share with your readers. If you do post, please do let us know and we’ll feature your post in the monthly newsletter which goes out to the 45K WF employees.

Keep up the great work!

The summary of the outreach follows below.
