Giving Water a Voice

Water’s been getting a bad rap lately due to its connection with the wasteful plastic bottle industry. Last week, ecofabulous attended an event in New York where PŪR gave water a voice by inviting a panel of experts to discuss the effects of the water bottling industry and release breakthrough technology in the field of water filtration.
While many of us have adopted the recycling regime, an astonishing 38 billion plastic water bottles are still thrown away each year. Even if we reach the point where we are recycling 100% of the plastic bottles, the production process still requires a huge amount of energy. The U.S. requires more than 1.5 million barrels of oil each year in order to meet the bottle-making demands of Americans – that’s enough to fuel 100,000 U.S. cars for a year.
Enter PŪR water filtration systems. Choose between faucet filters, dispensers and pitchers, or even a PŪR fridge. PŪR filters drastically reduce contaminants in the water, removing 99.9% of microbial cysts, 98% of lead, 97% of chlorine, and 99% of pharmaceutical compounds – and all without the need for plastic bottles. In addition to making a difference at home, you can do your part for developing countries knowing that PŪR gives a percentage of each sale to the Children’s Safe Drinking Water program.
Watch out world, water has come clean.

I’m one of those people who drink four times as much water as they optimally should - around 12 litres a day (I think that’s about 3-4 gallons). But I’m also one of those people who hasn’t fallen sick once in the past 3 years. Water? Probably..
Finest drink ever…
