On Comet
Date: December 6, 2007 | Category: Holiday & Gift, Lifestyle, Travel
The guys over at COMET skateboards will tell you they’re all about a head rush, but you’re not going to get one sniffing their boards. That’s because they use low-VOC coatings and water-based paints in tandem with sustainably harvested materials such as bamboo, fsc-certified maple veneer, vert-lam poplar and hickory cores. And all this is being shaped in a solar-powered factory. Because durability is of utmost importance to them - for safety and longevity - they’ve taken great pains to develop a bio composite that utilizes a cross-linking soy polymer to replace petroleum-based epoxies. With each new innovation, they strive towards Cradle-to-Cradle certification. In the meantime, any rider would love to take a ride on a COMET, so maybe this is what you’ll get the sk8er in your life. They provide a wicked ride and have gorgeous designs.
