Time for Teens to Green their Careers

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that green collar jobs are the next big thing. Forget Silicon Valley, today’s high school and college students will be looking towards a greener grind when they enter the work force.

To that end, The California Student Sustainability Coalition invites teens to an event that will help you network with like-minded students and potential employers at the “Greening Your Career” Fair at San Francisco State University, Oct. 24-26.

The next generation of the who’s-who of sustainable thinking can attend a variety of events, including lectures, workshops and discussions, and will have the opportunity to meet and speak with representatives from eco-friendly organizations about potential volunteer, internship and employment opportunities. Students from all higher education institutions are invited, as are high school students and teachers. Registration for students is free.

So, though the idea of getting a job might sound like a drag, here’s your chance to align yourself with companies that are trying to do some good. Your friends who are stuck mowing lawns all summer will be green with envy.
