Youth in Action

There’s no argument: Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” did a lot to spur the green movement. And thankfully, the youth that will lead the next generation are among those who have been affected by its message and all that has arisen since. And they’re doing more than chatting about it in homeroom - way more. To answer the call, teenagers in Menlo Park have launched Inconvenient Youth, a non-profit, non-partisan network that educates and activates teens to join the fight against global warming. The inaugural training just took place from August 15th-17th at Stanford University, where students from as far away as Japan gathered together to mobilize and bring an enlightened message back to their communities. The group of 80 learned how to raise awareness at a grassroots level in the hope that they will be able to gather support to fight climate change internationally. We hope that the “Inconvenient Youth” will be able to move quickly to reverse the problems that our generation has left in our wake.
